Nominate a Candidate

Nomination Process

The Committee receives and reviews completed nomination forms and votes to determine who will be selected as an inductee to the Wall. Application packages are submitted to the GBHS AWoH Liaison on the committee by April 15 each year. If you’re interested in submitting a nomination, there are several ways to do so:

1.

Submit an application online. All materials can be submitted using our form.

2.  

Download a paper application and deliver the package directly to GBHS, addressed in an envelope with:

3.   

Download a paper application and mail the package through the U.S. Postal system, addressed as follows:

What We Look For

Inductees are exemplary alumni through leadership, character, and service as role models for all members of the GBHS community. Inductees represent alumni whose achievements shine as a stellar example and serve to inspire the students of GBHS in the following areas:

LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER,
& HARD WORK

Made exceptional contributions in the community (outstanding community service) and/or career field (professional endeavors) through leadership, character, and hard work.

CONTRIBUTIONS
& SERVICE

Proven exceptional contributions and service verified by citations, letters of recommendation, awards, etc.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Earned higher education substantiated by academic degrees, honors, certificates, etc.

CAREER

Positively impacted their professional endeavors or career field.

Nominee Criteria

We're excited to see your application! Keep in mindi that individuals cannot nominate themselves. Before you submit the form, keep in mind the following criteria:

Must be a graduate of Glen Burnie High School

2

Must be a minimum of 10 years since the nominee graduated.

3

Must have stellar achievements that make them shine as a role model.

4

Must have exhibited leadership characteristics and/or service that inspires others.

5

Must have achievements in all or several of the following areas:

Contributions that have furthered the growth, reputations, and character of others and the community.

ecological.png

Span of impact through good works or charitable generosity (local, regional, national, international).

love.png

Significant contributions to the heritage of the Glen Burnie and/or Anne Arundel County community.

We recommend submitting letters of recommendation and copies of awards and citations. Posthumous nominations are acceptable.

The Voting Process

The Committee scores each submitted application package on leadership, teaming, integrity, character, and contributions to the community. The top four to eight nominees who receive the most points from each Committee member are elected.
